Submit your feedback through the Rous website form

Due 28 May 2021

“VOTE CARD” – Step by step how to Support the Revised Future Water 2060 Plan & oppose Dunoon Dam.

This is Rous’ preferred method. It will count as a full submission and only takes a 2-5 minutes.

There are a few things to be aware of:
• Most of the demographic questions are required
• The Dunoon Dam isn’t mentioned so make sure to write a sentence or two in the
comments box to remind Rous you are opposed to the dam for cultural heritage,
environmental and economic reasons.

Question 9

a) Ground Water
I Support – We suggest you support this option, but follow it up with any of your concerns in the comments section.

b) Desalination
I Support – We suggest you support this option explicitly but follow it up with your concerns in the comments.

c) Direct Potable Recycled Water
I Support – We suggest you support this option explicitly.

d) Indirect Potable Recycled Water
I Support – We suggest you support this option explicitly.

e) Other
We suggest you mention that you’d like to see more emphasis on efficiency and conservation programs within the demand management plan. Please include any other water sources you’d like to see the council pursue.

Comments
Other things you may want to mention:
• State your opposition to the Dunoon Dam for cultural heritage, environmental
and economic reasons.
• Affirm your strong support for Direct Potable Reuse of water. In the long term, this will have to become part of the mix if we are serious about protecting the environment and cultural heritage. It is the cleanest and safest source of water and the only reason it is not at the top of the list is the council thinks you won’t accept it.
• Desalination should be powered through renewables. This plan calls for temporary
desalination plants only if needed in a drought. Powering the temporary plants with
renewable nergy should be an explicit part of the approach.
• Have a look at our submission guide for more ideas.
